The Chronicles of Wuhan (China) Journey: The First Wave

Then the Messenger-Angel said, "This is God's message to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the Lord Almighty. 'You will succeed because of My Spirit, though you are few and weak.'"

1. My Story. His Story. (1) | At the Beginning of the First Wave

Excerpt 1

1. In any great story, there is a beginning. I am going to tell you about what transpired at the start of the first wave.

2. On 20 June 2016, the Lord placed a prophetic word upon my heart: that Wuhan is a strategic center for revival in China.

3. Again, on 8 August 2016, at 6:12 a.m., the Lord gave me another word—this time specifically for Wuhan, the city representing China.

4. Prior to this, sometime in March 2016, a friend who had returned from China invited me to attend the China School of Prophets, run by a Malaysian. The instructor was teaching on the End Times. My friend knew about my prophetic gift and wanted me to accompany him.

5. At that time, I was not keen at all after hearing so many wonderful things about the school. He told me about the principal, the academic dean, and the Chinese students.

6. Having no interest in my heart, I decided to pray for my friend, the principal, the academic dean, and the Chinese students who would be attending the school in November 2016. I did this during my early morning walking exercise—my devotion time. It was then that the Lord dropped the two prophetic words into my heart.

7. Because of this, I wrote a Wuhan Prophetic Paper for China and emailed it to the principal and academic dean of the school. I thought my job was finished.

8. But lo and behold—it was not. I felt the Lord wanted me to go to the school and personally deliver the prophetic paper to about 100 students.

9. So I asked the Lord for two things:

i) The principal must invite me—not my friend. I had not told anyone about this, not even my friend!

ii) If that happens, I want Your tangible presence and a heavy anointing to be in the midst of the meeting.

10. The Malaysian principal wanted to speak at house meetings in Klang. He asked my friend to organize them, but it was actually I who arranged both meetings for him. More than 30 people came.

11. It was at the second meeting that my friend brought up the subject of the prophetic paper to the principal. The principal asked me, and I briefly explained it. He sat there listening, then said, "I want you in Wuhan." That was when I knew the Lord had confirmed the assignment for me. I told my wife to book the flights—and she was totally surprised. That was the beginning of our journey to Wuhan, China, in November 2016.

2. My Story. His Story. (2) | One Month Before Setting Foot on Wuhan

Excerpt 2

1. One month before going to the Wuhan school during early winter in November 2016, the Lord dropped a prophetic message for a Chinese lady—the owner of a large resort in Wuhan. I wrote it on WhatsApp and sent it to her contact, the academic dean of the school. The academic dean then forwarded it to the lady's assistant, who translated the prophetic message into Chinese for her.

2. Earlier, I had an opportunity to meet her when my friend wanted me to get to know the school principal, who was on a speaking engagement at Cheras Sentral Mall. This Chinese lady came with him as part of a team that day.

3. God was so good! I spoke some encouraging words to her through an interpreter. The interpreter told her that it was confirmation for her. Later, she gestured that I should come and visit Wuhan.

4. When our flight arrived at Wuhan Airport, the Chinese lady and her assistant were already there waiting to pick us up and take us to her resort, where the school held its meetings. That night at the airport was late and cold.

5. When we reached her resort, she placed us in a chalet for one night. Later, she moved my wife and me to a presidential suite with an adjacent dining room, master bedroom, and bathroom.

6. She was very eager to meet with me. One day, she said to me through an interpreter that every time she saw the prophetic message she had been given, tears would roll from her eyes. The main reason was that the prophetic message given to her was exactly the same message—in context—that she had secretly written and placed in the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem.

7. No one knew about it except God! It is awesome! Praise God!

3. My Story. His Story. (3) | The Prophetic Conference

Excerpt 3

1. Our trip to Wuhan for the prophetic conference began in April/May 2017. My wife, an elder, and a friend joined me to speak at the conference. The focus was on the subject of prophecy.

2. About 120 participants from other cities came to Wuhan. They included pastors, elders, ministry workers, and others. God showed up and did not disappoint them. They were hungry and wanted more of the anointing of God.

3. I remember one particular session when I taught them how to operate in the simple gift of prophecy. I asked them to form many rows, with two rows facing each other. I gave them ten minutes to prophesy to one another. Those who could prophesy were asked to leave the floor. I gave the remaining ones a second chance to do it again. Finally, I told those still on the floor that I would pray and impart the gift. The first person I touched immediately fell under the power of the Holy Spirit, followed by the next one, and then the rest. Those who had left the floor saw what happened and came running back to receive the impartation. They also fell under the power of the Holy Spirit. It was an awesome sight! Praise the Lord!

4. I have noticed that every time God works, the devil also works very hard at the same time to create confusion and fear.

5. You may enjoy good things as well as face bad things. Do not be surprised! This is bound to happen when you are in ministry. In the end, God overrules. You may even experience the supernatural.

6. During the prophetic conference, there were oil deposits in the hands of a few participants, while others had gold dust deposits. Praise the Lord!

7. When the conference ended, the local pastor brought his church co-workers for prayer in his condominium apartment, where we were staying.

8. The Lord did marvelous things! We had a discussion as I told them that God wanted to give them weapons of warfare. They came up with all kinds of ancient Chinese weapons for battle: the drums (gong), the swords, the spears, the shields, and so on. They wrote them down on a piece of paper, and I instructed the pastor to pray over them according to the weapons listed. The pastor asked me whether he could also prophesy to them, and I said yes!

9. Later, I felt that I should impart to them what God had revealed earlier. As I prayed for each one, a lady manifested in the spiritual realm of warfare. We could visibly see her displaying the weapon prayed over by the pastor.

10. We never know what God will do next. But when we do according to what He instructs, some good things are bound to happen—even in the spirit realm. Amen!

4. My Story. His Story. (4) | The Way of the Spirit

Excerpt 4

1. Our third trip to Wuhan was in September 2017. Another local pastor invited me and my wife to come. We were in Wuhan for two weeks.

2. When we first arrived, he took us to his home. His son vacated his room for us to stay, while he moved into a smaller room. There were no meetings planned at the time of our arrival.

3. Later, the local pastor told us that he was taking us to a church in Guangshui, a two-hour drive from Wuhan. It was during an early winter night.

4. Prior to this, we had ministered to a lady who was a disciple of the local pastor. She was delivered from evil spirits. She came with us to Guangshui and served as our worship leader.

5. The church in Guangshui is an evangelical church with one to two million members. We held a four-day anointing conference for the church leadership only. About one hundred people came to the meetings.

6. God was so good! There was a release of a fivefold anointing—Holy Spirit, business, family, breakthroughs, and double portion—for the people. The leadership was greatly encouraged and fired up.

7. God continued to show up and show off without fail in every meeting.

8. The personal assistant to the senior pastor of the Guangshui church requested that I pray for their lay leadership. There were many of them. So I agreed to provide personal ministry for only five difficult and serious cases. He arranged this. They were eagerly waiting to be ministered to.

9. An assisting pastor of this particular church wanted to speak with me. (The Guangshui evangelical church has five more outreach locations similar to this one.) I did not entertain him until two days later. All he wanted was to ask me whether what was happening in our midst was God's doing. My answer was that our coming to his church was not part of our plan at all—it was God who had orchestrated everything. He gladly accepted this.

10. Later, I witnessed that same assisting pastor singing and dancing joyfully with his congregation. Praise God!

11. In every meeting, we could see that the Holy Spirit was in control. Many people were delivered from unclean spirits. Many were touched and fell under the power of the Holy Spirit.

5. My Story. His Story. (5) | The Number Gradually Increases

Excerpt 5

1. We went again to Wuhan in March/April 2018 for two weeks. This time, the local pastor took us to a small house church in Wuchang.

2. The pastor of this small house church is a former ministry worker from the Three-Self Church. He left to start his own church. He is married to a Taiwanese missionary serving in mainland China. His congregation numbers fewer than ten.

3. We used his church premises for our conference. In fact, we held two four-day conferences—one for each week.

4. At the beginning of the first day of the conference, the attendance was fewer than twenty. But the number grew as each day passed. The attendance gradually increased to about seventy people who came for the meetings. Praise Yeshua!

5. On the last day of the conference, the pastor and his wife came for prayer. They had witnessed the awesome power and ministry of the Holy Spirit. As they came forward, the Holy Spirit fell upon them. Praise the living God! Amen!

6. My Story. His Story. (6) | Does It End Well?

Excerpt 6

1. The local pastor once again invited us, and we went to Wuhan in June 2018. This time we stayed for three weeks. The local pastor took us to another house church in Wuchang.

2. On 10 June 2018, we arrived for the Sunday morning service. After lunch, the lady pastor of the house church requested that we pray for her co-workers. God did not fail to show up on the very first day we were asked to pray for them.

3. This lady pastor wanted us to minister only to her church.

4. We held two-day healing sessions (21–22 June 2018) from morning till night. The lady pastor arranged for her members to come.

5. There was also another lady senior pastor and a teacher from the Three-Self Church who came because they had heard from a few of their members about what happened at the three-day conference.

6. Those members had reported to them what they saw and encountered. During the healing sessions, most of the attendees were seen crying and being led to confess generational curses. They had traumatic experiences from early childhood—broken families due to poverty, marriages and divorces, and more. God loves them.

7. With the spiritual gifts of wisdom, knowledge, and counsel, we were able to help them see the areas needing confession. They were set free. A few experienced deliverance from evil spirits and vomited out greenish and whitish fluids.

8. The lady senior pastor and her teacher came specifically for personal ministry. They were heartbroken and sad. They could not understand why some of their pastors, after receiving outside teaching, had disagreed and broken away. They were ministered to and felt much relieved. They were so grateful for the timely, revealed, inspired words. PTL! Amen!

9. Everyone is excited to know what happens toward the end of a story—the journey one undertakes and what really happens at the end of that journey. Does it end well? Or otherwise?

10. We saw a tremendous change, a turnaround not only in the spiritual atmosphere but also in the relationships of the people in this church.

11. God showed up and showed off in practically all the meetings. People were emotionally charged and touched. Many fell under the power of the Holy Spirit. Many deliverances took place. There was crying and manifestation in the tangible presence of God. There was a strong move of the Holy Spirit in the manifestation of spiritual gifts. There was excitement and expectation from the people for more of God. They are a praying church, but they hunger for more of God's anointing and for their breakthrough.

12. A touching moment came on our last day of serving the lady pastor's church. We could feel that they did not want us to leave. The lady pastor, her mother, her son, and her co-workers were sending us off at the elevator. The lady pastor hugged my wife while we were inside the elevator. She broke down and cried loudly. Then her co-workers teared up as well. My wife consoled her that we would come back. It was an awesome, touching moment to behold! Praise the Lord!

7. My Story. His Story. (7) | God Never Makes Any Mistakes

Excerpt 7

i) Wuhan City, China

1. Wuhan, the sprawling capital of Central China's Hubei province, is a commercial center divided by the Yangtze and Han rivers.

2. Wuhan City comprises three districts—Wuchang, Hankou, and Hanyang—and contains many lakes and parks, including the expansive, picturesque East Lake. Its population was 11.08 million as of 2018.

ii) Why China?

1. Because the people of China are so hungry for God! They want a touch of God in His tangible presence and heavy anointing.

2. Everything we did in times past was solely for the Lord. We went to China at our own expense, with some help from concerned brothers and sisters in Christ. Our primary goal was to respond to God's assignments in His divine timing.

3. We went in full measure of faith that He would take care of us. He did! He never failed. We enjoyed the hospitality and love shown by the local pastors. Praise God!

4. On each trip we took, we did not have the slightest idea where we would minister. We submitted ourselves to the local pastor, who would arrange ministry time in whatever local house church he chose. All we knew was to go in His time. Amen!

5. We knew what God's assignment was even before we left for China. We were like ambassadors for Him, delivering His royal edict for that season. We knew our spiritual position in Christ. Because of that, many wonderful things happened to the church that opened herself to our ministry. It was awesome to see and experience the mighty move of the Holy Spirit when we allowed Him to have His own way in the assembly of His people.

iii) Why Me?

1. I have often wondered, "Why me?" I cannot speak Mandarin—only English well. There are people out there more eager to go to China. Why give this assignment to me?

2. I realize that when the Lord calls you, He never makes any mistakes. He knows you, and you alone can fulfill His assignment.

3. Do not look at your inadequacy. Count it a privilege that God would call you for such an assignment.
