REACHING OUT TO YOUR DESTINY

The Eternal Choice of God

The journey toward your destiny begins with a profound and comforting truth found in the pages of Holy Scripture. Ephesians 1:4 declares with sovereign authority, "Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him." This is not merely a theological concept to be debated. It is a deeply comforting verse that speaks directly to the core of your existence. It tells you with absolute certainty that you are not here without a reason or purpose. You are not a random accident floating through time and space. You have been chosen by God before He formed the galaxies, before He spoke the world into existence, and before He molded Adam from the dust of the earth.

Your destiny in God includes being holy and blameless before Him. This is not a suggestion for the super-spiritual. It is the very design of your creation. However, the privilege of being chosen by God is conditional on our choice to believe and receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. Without Jesus Christ in our lives, there is absolutely no way we can fulfill our God-given destiny. The door to destiny is Christ Himself. God is God, and He works all things, including your life, according to His purposes. Nothing happens outside of His sovereign will.

The Fulfillment of Purpose

Psalm 57:2 captures the heart cry of every believer who seeks to understand their place in God's grand design. The psalmist declares, "I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me." This is the key to understanding God's purpose for your life. God has numbered your days and will fulfill every purpose He has for you. You do not have to strive in anxiety. You do not have to manipulate circumstances. Your responsibility is to cry out to God Most High, and His responsibility is to fulfill the purpose He has already established.

God knows the destiny of those that choose to walk within His guidelines, and He knows the destiny of those that choose not to walk in His guidelines. This knowledge is not passive. God knows the destiny of those that obey Him, that they will be saved from destruction. He also knows the destiny of those that do not obey Him, which is destruction. The path of obedience leads to life, while the path of rebellion leads to ruin. The Bible makes it clear that the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable, meaning that they cannot be changed. What God has given, He does not take back. What God has spoken, He does not revoke.

The Mystery of Predestination and Choice

Is your destiny already written by God? This question has puzzled theologians and believers for centuries. The answer is nuanced. It is not so much that we are predestined in life with every detail forced upon us, but that God already knows what we will do in any given circumstance. He is omniscient. He sees the end from the beginning. God gives us His Word, the Bible, to tell us what to do, but whether we follow His plan is up to us. God uses circumstances and people for His purposes, weaving together the threads of our choices into the tapestry of His sovereign will.

Destiny involves what is going to happen, what has to happen, or what is meant to be. If a certain future is said to be someone's destiny, it can only mean that it is destined, foreordained or predetermined to happen, or that it should happen. To reach out to your destiny is not a matter of chance. It is not the roll of cosmic dice. It is a matter of CHOICE. You must make deliberate decisions that align with God's purposes.

You need to know what you really, really, REALLY want. This is not about superficial desires. It is about the deep longing of your soul that God has planted within you. Once you know what you truly want, then you can take action. Then you can get going and keep on going no matter how you feel. Emotions will fluctuate. Circumstances will change. But a fixed purpose will carry you through the storms.

The Unstoppable Plan of God

Isaiah 14:27 thunders with divine confidence, "For the LORD of hosts has purposed, and who will annul it? His hand is stretched out, and who will turn it back?" God has a purpose for your life, and He is asking with rhetorical power, "Who can stop my plan? Who is more powerful than Me? Who can make a mistake so big that I cannot forgive it? Who can have a problem so large that I cannot solve it? Who can have a dream so great that I cannot bring it to pass?" God's plan cannot be stopped by a bad break. All the forces of darkness cannot keep you from your destiny.

Sometimes we think because we have made mistakes and we are not where we want to be in life, we must have stopped God's plan. The truth is, you are not that powerful! You may have made mistakes, but it was not a surprise to God. He already has the mercy prepared for your failure. Shake off the guilt and move forward. Nothing that you have done or have not done has cancelled your destiny. You are not powerful enough to stop God's plan. God has the final say. Nothing can snatch you out of God's hand. No accident or crazy person can stop God's plan. God is in complete control of your life.

God is working behind the scenes, arranging things in your favor. He is making a way where you do not see a way. You do not have to live worried, stressed out, trying to force everything to happen. All you have got to do is keep God in first place, honor Him with your life, and you will come into these destiny moments where you see God supernaturally protecting you. You will find yourself at the right place, meeting the right person. That was not coincidence. That was the favor of God moving you towards your divine destiny.

The Favor of Divine Orchestration

It is not a lucky break. It is Almighty God saying, "I have got a destiny for you to fulfill. My plan will come to pass." You may not see how this can happen, but God will have a thousand ways to do it that you never thought of. God is directing your steps down to the smallest details. He can make things happen that you could never make happen on your own. He is for you. He is on your side. What He has purposed for your life will come to pass.

Even when you do not have the courage to do what you know you are supposed to do, God will not leave you there. God will push you into your divine destiny. God knows how to get you to where you are supposed to be. God is so good, so loving, so forgiving, that even if He has to drag you, He will still get you to your destiny. We do not have to live down on ourselves because we do not think we have enough faith. We do not have to go around stressed out because it is not happening on our timetable. We can stay in peace knowing that our God is in complete control. He knew when we would not have the faith, when we would need a push. He has already got your destiny moments lined up, where you will see His hand of favor.

A problem you have had for years suddenly turns around. An opportunity of a lifetime is suddenly in front of you. Those are destiny moments that God already has in your future. God works in mysterious ways. He knows how to get people to like you. Why do not you trust Him? Believe that in your future are these destiny moments waiting to unfold.

Divine Connections and Relationships

You may not be able to make it happen, but God knows how to make it happen. Sometimes we get all worked up trying to make things happen. We are discouraged because somebody will not be our friend. We are working overtime trying to convince them to like us. If somebody does not like you, do not take it personally. They are not a part of your destiny. If you will keep moving, you will come into the people God has ordained for you.

God has divine connections in your future. These are people that will celebrate you, want to be your friend, and even go out of their way to be good to you. God has it all lined up, big ways and small ways. God is in complete control. God is strategically orchestrating your steps. You are not here by accident. You have been chosen by the Creator of the universe. He has a specific plan for your life, something for you to accomplish. You have not made too many mistakes. You have not missed too many opportunities. If you will keep moving forward, you will come into your destiny moments where you see God's hand of favor. That is Him bringing about His purpose in your life.

The Declaration of Destiny

If you are going to live in victory, all through the day you must declare with your mouth, "I am a person of destiny. His favor surrounds me like a shield. No weapon formed against me will prosper. What God started in my life, He will finish. I will become everything He has created me to be." Your words have power. Your confession shapes your reality. Speak destiny over yourself until it becomes the atmosphere you live in.

How you were raised does not have to stop your destiny. Before anyone could put a curse on you, God put a blessing on you. The blessing always overrides the curse. It does not matter what people have said about you. It matters what God said about you. You came through your parents, but you are from Almighty God. Just because you were raised in a negative environment, you do not have to stay there. That is not who you are. Shake off every negative comment people have spoken over you and reprogram your thinking. When God puts the blessing on you, it does not matter what people say or how they treat you. All that matters is that Almighty God has blessed you, and nothing else is of any effect.

The Crown of Favor and Protection

When God created you, He breathed His blessing into you. You are wearing God's crown of favor. When someone mistreats you, it is easy to let that cloud your future. Have a new perspective. What God has blessed, no person can curse. People are powerless to stop the blessing on your life. The enemy does not fight you for where you are. He fights you for where you are going. You may be facing difficulty because God has something amazing in your future. There are new levels of your destiny that you have not yet touched. You have not touched the surface of what God has in store.

You are going to see Ephesians 3:20 fulfilled in your life, exceedingly abundantly above and beyond. You and God are a majority. If God is for you, who dares be against you? What God has purposed for your life will come to pass. God's plan for your life is down to the very second. God is not a vague God. He is a detailed God, a precise God, an exact God. He has already taken into account every attack that will come against you.

If it is not your time to go, all the forces of darkness cannot stop you. God is bigger than any enemy, injustice, or sickness. Isaiah 59:19 promises, "When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him." God knows how to protect you. Just as God can make blind eyes see, God can make seeing eyes blind. God can shield you from the enemy. Quit worrying about your future. Quit trying to figure it all out. God has you in the palm of His hand. There is a hedge of protection around you that the enemy cannot cross. What is meant for your harm, God said He would use to your advantage. When you do not see a way, God can make a way. When it looks like it is over, God has the final say.

The Final Exhortation to Destiny

He knew we would all face situations that looked impossible. God is saying, "I will not fail you or let you go under. My purpose for your life will come to pass. I will give you another chance. I love you too much to let you miss your destiny." Stir your faith up. Shake off every disappointment, every negative comment, the self-pity, and put on a new attitude.

If you will have this attitude of faith, if you will honor God with your life, you are going to come into your destiny moments. That favor is going to thrust you to new levels. You will see God's purpose come to pass in your life. You will overcome every obstacle. You will defeat every enemy. And you will become everything God has created you to be.
